Nellie Bly is a good role model because she was:

Brave: She was willing to take risks to expose the truth and help others.

Determined: She never gave up on her goals, even when they were difficult.

Compassionate: She cared about the poor and oppressed, and she used her platform to fight for them.

For example, she posed as a patient at a psychiatric hospital to expose the inhumane conditions there. She also wrote about the plight of workers in sweatshops and immigrants living in poverty.

Her life and work is an inspiration to us all. She showed us that anything is possible if we set our minds to it and that we should all strive to be brave, determined, and compassionate.
