Hi Paul,

I can't wait for you and your parents to join us in Kenya! So far, the trip has been both good and bad. The flight to Kenya was very, very long. I've never been on such a long flight before. Have you ever tried to sleep on a plane? It's not easy! Mom, Dad, and I got here on Wednesday morning, and at first we couldn't find our bags anywhere. Then we discovered that the people at the airport mixed them up with another airline's bags. About an hour later, we got our bags and drove to the hotel.

The day after we got here, we tried ugali for the first time. It's a traditional Kenyan porridge dish made of maize. It was really tasty! Have you ever eaten maize porridge before? You should try it when you get here. My dad ate something that was like the banana pancakes we usually eat at our favorite café at home. It really is a small world!

The next day, we went to a place called Maasai Mara to see wild animals. We saw giraffes, lions, elephants, and many other animals, too. My mom said they were nothing like the animals in the zoo. I think so, too. It was so cool! We also went to see the Mara River. There were lots of crocodiles there!

We have a lot of things planned to do with you guys as well, including a balloon ride. See you soon.
